We built Stenoris with Swiss data sovereignty in mind. Here's what that means in practice.

Your data stays in Swiss/EU jurisdiction

What this means for you

  • No US jurisdiction — Your data is not subject to US laws or the CLOUD Act
  • Swiss hosting — Primary infrastructure runs on Infomaniak Cloud in Switzerland
  • Data stays local — Audio processing happens in Switzerland or Europe, never outside
  • Encryption — Data encrypted in transit and at rest
  • No training on your data — Your audio is not used to train our models without explicit consent

For compliance officers

  • Swiss company — Stenoris is operated by Ateleris GmbH, registered in Switzerland
  • GDPR-compatible — Our data handling follows European data protection principles
  • Documentation available — We can provide security documentation for procurement processes
  • Data processing agreements — Available on request for enterprise customers

Built on research, not hype

Our Swiss German capability emerged from a formal research collaboration with FHNW's Institute for Data Science. We're a research-based company, not a startup chasing the latest AI trend.

This research foundation means we understand the technical details of what we're building — and can explain exactly how your data is handled.

Frequently asked questions

Where exactly is my audio stored?

Audio files are processed and stored on Infomaniak Cloud infrastructure located in Switzerland. For model inference (transcription), we use Azure services in Switzerland or Europe depending on availability.

Is my data used to train your models?

No, not without explicit consent. Standard transcription usage does not contribute to model training. If you're interested in custom training using your data, that's a separate conversation with explicit agreements.

What about the CLOUD Act?

The US CLOUD Act allows US authorities to request data from US companies regardless of where the data is stored. Because Stenoris is operated by a Swiss company (Ateleris GmbH) and our primary infrastructure is Swiss, your data is not subject to these requests.

Can I get documentation for procurement?

Yes. We can provide security questionnaire responses, data processing agreements, and technical documentation as needed for your procurement process. Just get in touch.

Questions about security?

If you have specific security or compliance questions, we're happy to discuss them in detail.
