The origin story

Stenoris emerged from a formal research collaboration between Ateleris and FHNW's Institute for Data Science. The goal was practical: build transcription models that actually work for Swiss German.

Swiss German isn't German with an accent — it's a family of spoken dialects with no standard written form. Generic transcription tools struggle. We wanted to fix that.

The research succeeded. We built models trained on real Swiss German data. And because we'd built them, we decided to make them available as a service.

Based in Aarau, Switzerland. We build software for clients across industries, with a focus on data-intensive applications and machine learning systems.

Stenoris grew out of our work on speech recognition for Swiss clients. We realized there was a broader need for Swiss German transcription — and that we had the expertise to address it.

FHNW Partnership

Our Swiss German capability was developed in collaboration with the Institute for Data Science at FHNW (University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland).

This isn't just a credential — it's the foundation of our technical approach. We built on academic research methodology to create production-ready models.
